The school budget is a vital building block in the creation of an effective school. Expenditure should reflect priorities, though this is not always easy to either evaluate or to achieve. Priority number one is to ensure that the budget balances. It is no good having a good ethos, high morale and a clear sense of purpose, if the school cannot pay its way.
