ABSTRACT

Yeaxlee, Basil (1883–1967) British scholar and adult educator. He was awarded the first ever PhD in adult education by the University of London in 1925 for his thesis on ‘Adult Education and Spiritual Values’. He was also the first author to write about lifelong education, with a book by this title in 1929. He was also a member of the committee that produced the famous 1919 Report.
