ABSTRACT

V ILASHINI COOPPAN (B. 1967) IN THE 1990s taught Comparative Literature at Yale University, and now teaches at the University of California at Santa Cruz, where she does research in, and teaches, postcolonial studies, comparative and world literature, literatures of slavery and diaspora, globalization studies, and cultural theory of race and ethnicity. She has published Worlds Within: National Narratives and Global Connections in Postcolonial Writing (Stanford University Press, 2009), as well as essays in symploke¯ , Comparative Literature Studies , Gramma , Concentric , and a number of collective volumes.
