ABSTRACT

The challenge of citizenship education is to create a citizenship curriculum for the whole school that: a) meets the requirements of the Order; b) supports the vision and mission of the school; and c) contributes to the school’s wider

communities (see Figure 13.1). CSV’s experience through working directly and indirectly with over 1,000 schools is encouraging. Many schools are well on the way to meeting the requirements of the Order and are already benefiting from promoting learning through student participation in their schools and wider communities.
