ABSTRACT
Citizenship education-under various names-has already shown that it can make a significant contribution to the quality of life in local communities. Students are involved in everything from environmental projects to community festivals, from personal support for people with special needs to running IT courses for parents and other adults. A whole school approach to community involvement greatly strengthens the value and impact of citizenship education on local communities.
