ABSTRACT

This chapter deals with the processes of transformation of relationships between students, academics and institutions, in physical and virtual learning spaces and props, and in learning times. It suggests that the transformation is influenced by changes in the ideologies of learning and wider environmental factors such as commodification, globalization and digitisation. I suggest that the situation is not clear-cut; possibilities exist for changes that can be either constructive or destructive of educational values. It therefore considers the ways in which creative teaching/learning strategies can protect and promote values in legal education. Relying on the issues raised in this chapter as well as previous chapters in the book, the chapter suggests guidelines to academics involved in the negotiation of change.
