ABSTRACT

Learning materials are often unfit for use because no systematic design methodology has been applied to their development process. Because of this institutions are calling for the development of learning materials that can be handed to anybody, from the beginning teacher to the expert, ready for delivery to the student. What do most of these materials tend to look like? How does the teacher sift through the morass, make sense of it all and make them their own? How are these types of materials put together in the first place?

This chapter will outline the strategies for developing teacher-independent materials, and getting them ready for delivery to the student.
