ABSTRACT
This chapter concerns many factors which, after exposure, can influence entry and delivery of the intoxicant to the cells (stages 1 and 2 in Figure 5.1). For many substances the route is circuitous, and the type of exposure and the properties of the chemical influence entry to the internal milieu. The processes discussed decrease the concentration of intoxicant gaining access to the target.
