ABSTRACT

Licia Brussa, a sociologist, is general coordinator of TAMPEP, the Transnational Project for AIDS/STD Prevention among Migrant Prostitutes in Europe’. Her research projects and doctoral degree have been in the fields of female migration and work. On the request of the Dutch government, she carried out a research project in 1991 on trafficking and forced prostitution in Europe, which resulted in an expert report for a seminar of the Council of Europe on this topic. She is currently linked to the Mr A. De Graaf Stichting, the Dutch national centre for research, documentation, public information, policy development and advice on prostitution and related issues.
