ABSTRACT

In the most recent issue of Statsvetenskaplig Tidskrift, a lengthy essay by F. Brock appeared on this subject, or a part of it. 1 Brock's immediate concern is the well-known Social Democratic bill in last year's parliamentary session, proposing a general reduction of tariffs by 10 per cent in order to combat ‘the present high prices’, and what he wants to show is that a measure of this kind could not bring the working population of this country more than temporary relief at the most — and even this would be at the expense of their class brothers in other countries and attended by various disadvantages for industry and therefore in the long term also for the workers themselves.
