What emerges from this is that a date of around 70-80 BE is implied by the accounts as we have them.20 Two further points should be noted. Firstly, the early traditions do not mention the name of the king, presumably because it was of no interest and because he played no special role in these events. Secondly, all the early accounts (including that of the ) leave us to understand that the decisions taken were accepted by all parties.
