ABSTRACT
Most Egyptians today agree that there is an urgent need to bring about fundamental changes in public life, and that this is a prerequisite for raising standards of living. This is the theme of an ongoing national dialogue, about which there is a general consensus. It develops into a debate when people – those in public life and private citizens alike – suggest how best to achieve this.
