It is not surprising that radicals believed that sex was a revolutionary, creative and
“magnetic” force. For instance, Russian Bolshevik Alexandra Kollontai lauded
sexual desire as the source of creativity, as “Winged Eros” which would inspire
people to make love – and revolt against capitalism.
