Easily the most controversial of all the Laws in its practical application is the leg before wicket (LBW) rule. Law 36, modified, changed and applied in every game of cricket. According to former Test umpire Don Oslear ‘This law causes more doubt, disagreement, debate and discussion than all of the other 41 put together.’1
