ABSTRACT
THE SUEZ AFFAIR left a strong impact on the Middle East and consequently the period following Suez was marked by upheavals and destabilisation in the Arab world. Nasserism and Pan-Arabism became popular among young Arabs and spread quickly through the region, consequently causing difficulties for the more conservative states.
