The intelligence summary for the morning of 14 June concluded that although a few hotheads might still dream of the arrival of significant assistance from West Falkland or from the mainland, with forces in contact, the Argentine Command in Stanley would have a reasonably realistic grasp of the facts; British artillery fire was effectively hitting Argentine positions, and the airfield was under consistent and heavy fire and unusable.
