The fears and hopes of both Jews and Arabs, held in check during the AAC deliberations, were now given freer rein with the publication of the Report. There was, as had been assumed there would be, “a gnashing of teeth” on both sides. Expressions of “unsatisfaction” as compared with “dissatisfaction” were largely, though not entirely, semantic. Both sides literally hung fire.
