ABSTRACT

The instrument of terms of trade, as we have described it in this work, belongs to the arena of class war. In a society torn by class divisions, it is sought to be used, remorselessly, by each of the contending classes to tilt the structure of asset and income distribution in its favour. It is not the only weapon deployed in class war, but certainly a principal one. And the significance of terms of trade policy is heightened by the fact that the manner in which it is wielded shapes in large measure the pattern of accumulation and growth for the economy as a whole.
