ABSTRACT
THERE IS CONFUSION IN BOTH the ancient sources and in modern histories as to the date at which Carausius came to power; there is no less confusion as to when he met his death and was succeeded by Allectus. Further there are adherents to two different dates for the defeat of Allectus by Constantius.
