ABSTRACT

As a result of the successful offensive in the winter and spring of 1944, the forces of the 1st Ukrainian Front, in cooperation with other fronts, liberated the Right Bank of Ukraine from the German invaders. The front’s armies reached positions extending from east of Kovel’, Brody, Ezerna, and beyond to Kolomyia, where the further advance of the front’s forces was temporarily halted. The front’s forces improved their occupied positions and, simultaneously, conducted preparations for an offensive along the Rava-Russkaia and L’vov axes.
