The story of Cast Container Line* (Cast) was supposed to be different. Its founder, Frank Narby, was supposed to be quicker and smarter. For 14 years Frank Narby, Eurocanadian Shipholdings Ltd. (ECS), and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Cast, waged a war for market share on the North Atlantic. But like so many before him, Frank Narby and his maverick ECS came to rest in Bankruptcy Court. Why?
