ABSTRACT

In the above manner, I have summarized the essential meaning (pindārtha) of the matters revealed by just the name ‘Mahā-vairocana-abhisambodhi-vikurvita-adhisthānatantra’ under four headings: i) the description of the cause and nature of the Bhagavat Vairocana, (76b) ii) the elaboration the topics herein which fully describe the manifestation (vikurvita) of Enlightenment and its transformational creations, iii) the revelation of the transformation (adhisthāna) of the manifestations into the perceptual forms of the mantras, vidyās, mudrās and so forth, the methods of propitiating them, and the entry practice, and likewise iv) the practices for the application (yoga), the process of accomplishment (sādhana) and the attainments (siddhi). You should know that having condensed the words of this Tantra, I have briefly shown the summarized topics so that they may be understood by those trainees who comprehend the meaning when it is thus analyzed in detail. You should understand that since those who rely on the words of the text, will only understand the meaning by way of hearing and pondering on the entire text of the Vairocana Tantra, this summary of the essential meaning is not to be regarded as a means for them to understand it.
