ABSTRACT
We asked the Heads contributing to this section to look at the leadership role of the Head within the school itself and in relation to the wider community. We sought examples of developing relationships with parents, governors and possibly other schools, and with the officers and advisers of the Local Education Authority. Aspects of these relationships have been developed in our introductory chapter. In the event, three of our four contributors chose to look specially at links with parents.
