ABSTRACT

When I spoke with Michael Dickson and Graham Watts about Ted’s extraordinary range of activity outside the practice, academia and his family, we were all unanimous that his will to succeed was always tempered with a strong sense of public concern. As a child around the family table he was made aware by politically active parents that the greater good of the community was important and that part of his life must be spent helping others less fortunate than himself, and that it was his duty to strengthen and support those bodies and institutions that were dedicated to providing better opportunities, better workplaces and better education for the public at large.
