Experience with the utilisation of the first generation of industrialised building systems for mass-production building and the difficulties which followed the building industries• changeover to small-scale production, contributed to some scepticism towards industrialised building methods. Mass-production building, its forms of procurement, its building techniques and manufacture were not developed to cater for small scale production.
