ABSTRACT

The activities of the sector have undergone great changes, an ever greater part being spent on urban renewal and renovation so that new building and renovation are of equal size (fig. 2.1.).

As in other countries the sector is heavily reliant on and sensitive to economic trends. It is therefore of great importance to the national economy. In Denmark families spend 20% of their income on the home and the total building and construction sector including building products constitutes almost an equal share of the national economy.
