ABSTRACT
Sutton House in Hackney, shown as built in Figure 15.1, is the oldest building in east London. It originated in the Tudor era and has witnessed many periods, each of which has left its mark. This is most apparent in the façade, interior panelled rooms and additions. The building has recently been restored and rejoins the community as an educational and recreational asset and home to the National Trust youth theatre.
