ABSTRACT
The case of Mrs. Ames, described in this chapter, occurred at a community agency based in a southeastern urban and suburban region. Demographically, the community from which the agency draws its clients is mostly White, about 20 to 25% Black, and a few percent comprised of Asian, Hispanic, and other racial/ethnic group population. Although primarily a working-class community, the population includes a full socioeconomic range.
