ABSTRACT

Dr. Elie Wiesel is the recipient of the 1986 Nobel Peace Prize and author of 37 books. During World War 11, Dr. Wiesel and his family were imprisoned at Auschwitz and Buchenwald. His ordeal, including the loss of his family and the countless other acts of cruelty and inhumanity that Wiesel witnessed and experienced, is soberingly chronicled in his book, Night. Through The Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity, his teaching, writing, public speaking, and other activities, Dr. Wiesel continues to inspire others of all ages to abandon their indifference and work for a more just and peaceful world. In June of 1994, Dr. Wiesel met with Douglas P. Fry to discuss the nature of conflict and issues facing humanity today.
