ABSTRACT

Having read this chapter, readers will know that in order to manage leisure resources, services and facilities, managers need to understand and practise good management and hone the skills and techniques of management to achieve organizational goals and objectives. This chapter focusses on the movement towards ‘quality’ services and towards participative-employee involved-styles of management. The chapter also points in the direction of a theory-practice orientation to leisure management, an essential to grasping the theoretical framework for leisure management presented in the f inal chapter.
