ABSTRACT
Students will learn the basic principles of staff management: ‘chains of command’, ‘span of control’ and ‘logical assignment’ and understand the nature of formal and informal organization structures. Readers will be introduced to a number of the laws relating to staff ing and the duties of employers and responsibilities of employer and staff. They will learn how to produce and use an organization chart, formulate a staff ing structure and produce an essential staff handbook.
