ABSTRACT
The Green Building Handbook is not a design manual nor does it lay down rigidly fixed standards or guidelines. It is intended to sit next to the drawing board or in the technical library and to be regularly consulted by designers specifiers and clients. It will need to be supplemented and up-dated, particularly as knowledge of the environmental impact of materials is growing at a rapid rate and as more ‘alternative’ products become available.
