ABSTRACT
The air-conditioning plant is designed to maintain the specified internal air temperature and humidity when the expected heat gains and losses occur. The CIBSE method of calculation of these plant heat loads is explained with the minimum of background theory. If refrigeration is not to be employed, the summer heat gains will produce an elevated internal air temperature. This summertime indoor temperature is calculated.
