ABSTRACT

Everywhere in the industrialized world the same issues have emerged concerning the built environment. But in each country, in each region, or even each city, the mixture and emphasis of concerns varies. Thus beyond the anonymity of the international style in the industrial world is the particularity of personal and professional responses in the postindustrial era. Each of us, from our own particular geographic and political location, must develop particular insights about the dramatic adjustments necessary to practice responsibility now and especially in the future.
