ABSTRACT

The spectrum of hazards and risks in construction, as displayed in the previous two chapters, covers such a variety that it can only serve to show the cautious manner with which one should approach this field. Risks are born as soon as the decision is taken to proceed with a project. They increase and grow as the project advances from the feasibility stage to the design and, later, construction stages. In the latter stage, risks reach their maximum intensity at the completion of the project when they begin to diminish but they never cease.
