ABSTRACT
Chapter Two covered the interaction between IT and the building, with some indications of IT trends: it set out to provide guidelines on which technologies are appropriate, when they may be suitable for use and how they may be implemented. In this chapter the emphasis is more predictive and market-based, looking at technology trends worldwide. Where regional differences do exist these have, of course, been highlighted.
