ABSTRACT
First used in Hong Kong and at the Haight-Ashbury Free Medical Clinic as an alternative to symptomatic medication in supervised narcotic withdrawal, acupuncture is proving an effective aid in detoxification from a variety of drug problems. It has also proved useful in the treatment of related health problems that involve compulsive behavior.
