ABSTRACT
A ll the landform patterns described in Chapter Five form the basic structures upon which vegetation, ecological and human activity has developed. The next stage in our quest for pattern/process relationships and their application to design turns to vegetation, its distribution and dynamics. Vegetation is one of the major components of the terrestrial ecosystem, so the interactions that occur between vegetation, landforms and climate are of fundamental importance.
