ABSTRACT
Services and services engineering are an increasingly important part of any building project. One of the earliest known forms of ducted warm air was in Roman villas. The evolution of services from basic plumbing to ‘high tech’ buildings today has great significance for all aspects of the development process. The relationship between the servicing needs of individual buildings and infrastructure requirements is touched on.
