ABSTRACT
For the last three years, I have been doing a great deal of work with HIV-positive clients and others affected by the AIDS epidemic. I have also been fielding questions from colleagues, family, and friends about why I would choose to work with clients who, sooner or later, most likely will die of AIDS. It's a fair question: as one person said to me, “It's not like there's going to be a happy ending.”
