ABSTRACT

This paper discusses the development of a dynamic model and computer simulation of a golf swing. The simulation combines a variable model of a human with a parametric model of a golf club. The model is driven with data obtained from actual golf swings using a four camera motion analysis system. The model can be analyzed to study the biomechanics of a golfer including the kinematics and kinetics of his joints, the interactions between the golfer and his equipment, and how altering the dynamic parameters of a golf club effects both the golfer and his swing.
