ABSTRACT

Female soccer is a growing part of the Danish soccer federation's activity. At club level the players in the First Division train about 2–3 times each week. While male players selected for the national team are full time professionals and physically very well trained, this is not always the case for female players. With the intention of bringing the female team up among the best female teams in the world, supplementary physical training was induced in the group of female players from the national team. The purpose of this study was to follow variations in physical capacity in that period.
