ABSTRACT
Garden city building in Britain has begun a fresh metamorphosis. This time, the lead is being taken by commercial house-building companies. While their first schemes struggle through the planning system we can opportunely review the previous phases of garden city development in Britain, paying particular attention to some neglected earlier involvements of the property industry.
