ABSTRACT
Stories often contain elements that do not conform to a stereotype, yet such stories are perfectly comprehensible to human readers. Since people can understand situations that they have not experienced, they must have an understanding ability beyond that obtainable from simple script or frame application. PAM was undertaken to investigate the source of this ability.
