ABSTRACT

Assets acquired over time must be replaced periodically due to physical deterioration, technological obsolescence, or changes in production methods. An asset may have to be replaced to maintain a desired level of output, to reduce costs, to increase productivity, or simply to be more attuned to the changing production and service requirements of the firm.
