Most of the preceding pages of this book have been concerned with the fixed-price term contract, whereby the contractor takes total responsibility for all the work required within a prescribed area for a fixed period of time, for an agreed lump-sum payment. Not all the work of the Parks Department is capable of being so neatly packaged, however.
