ABSTRACT
Just as a great cook cannot work miracles with poor ingredients, foreign news cannot be any better than the quality of news stories upon which it is based. In other words, the quantity of international news does not necessarily equal comprehensive and useful coverage of international news events. High-quality international reporting attempts to convey the economic, historical, political, and social dimensions of international issues and makes an effort to convey the importance of events as they affect international relations and international cooperation.
