ABSTRACT
Autopoiesis The pattern of life or “self-making” of a living system. It complements cognition, the process of life.
Bell’s Theorem The mathematical theorem in quantum physics that supports the Eastern philosophical concept of universal interconnectedness. It is based upon correlations between paired particles similar to the pair of hypothetical particles in the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen thought experiment. Bell’s theorem (published in 1964) shows that the principle of local causes is mathematically incompatible with the assumption that the statistical predictions of quantum theory are valid. The Aspect experiment of 1982 further weakened the principle of local causes by establishing that correlated particles can communicate at speeds surpassing the speed of light.
