ABSTRACT
Compared to many other inequalities, gender inequality is especially sneaky and resilient.
I think of it this way, first, because unlike some other inequalities, it is an inequality made among friends and family members and sometimes accommodated by women. Justified in the name of children, this inequality can seem powerfully functional. Historically, there would have been a serious layer of that kind of hostile sexism that sounds like racism. Not so much, now. Misogyny-like biologic racism-isn’t said out-loud quite as much as it used to be.
