ABSTRACT

Ian Bogost is an associate professor in the School of Literature, Communication and Culture at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a video game designer and critic, and founding partner of the independent video game studio Persuasive Games, which develops games about social and political issues. Along with Nick Montfort, Bogost recently wrote Racing the Beam: The Atari Video Computer System published in 2009 by MIT Press. He is also the author of Unit Operations: An Approach to Videogame Criticism (2008) and Persuasive Games:The Expressive Power of Videogames (2007).
